Annual Goat Sponsorship

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Goat Sponsor. The program is currently full. Please email info@stepladdercreamery.com to join the waitlist.

Choose between 10 does in our herd of LaMancha goats you'd like to symbolically sponsor or let us pick for you - all of them are amazing! Please note that although you will be sponsoring your specific doe, a portion of the purchase goes toward supporting the entire herd of 50+ goats plus our bucks.

As a reminder, we're offering two levels of sponsorship:

Level 1 is $365 for an annual sponsorship. Included in this level is a welcome card with photo and bio of your sponsored goat. You also get a goodie box with a ceramic campfire mug, calendar, tote bag and more.

Level 2 is $100 for an annual sponsorship. Included is a welcome card with photo and bio of your sponsored goat.

Both levels also get exclusive access to goat and herd-related happenings as well as discounts on Stepladder cheese and products.

MEET THE GOATS AVAILABLE FOR SPONSORSHIP:

  • Stevie: She loves humans and is always seeking us out for a good back scratch and loves going on walks into the hills.
  • Carolina:  She absolutely loves getting scratches along her spine and is not shy to ask for them - most days this comes in the form of the majority of her body weight being leaned up against us in a pushy and impossible to ignore show of affection.
  • Orchid: She is a very quiet and mild-mannered doe who seems to be content to spend the majority of her time relaxing in the pasture or hunting for stray acorns.
  • Wanda: She is a very playful and friendly little goat who loves to get scratches from her human companions.
  • Mary Anne: She is a beautiful and photogenic little lady with long luscious locks and an inquisitive nature.
  • Bella: She is playful and athletic and loves to romp through the hills and leap off of rocks when we take the herd on their regular walks.
  • Paprika: She seems to especially love a good nap, and will often be found relaxing in her favorite spot near her friends.
  • Betty Lou: Though she is distinguished and rather elegant, she also happens to be quite goofy and more than a little odd.
  • Kimchi:She is one of our most rambunctious girls, and loves to find the highest places in the pasture to leap off of or even just take a nice nap upon.
  • Sorrel: Sorrel is the youngest doe in our sponsorship program and is a very mild-mannered little lady, but also happens to be one of the most intrepid explorers in the herd.

As a reminder, all sponsorships are annual from the purchase date. Similarly to our Quarterly Cheese Club, goat sponsorships auto-renew. Cancel at any time online or email us for assistance.

Thank you for supporting our herd and creamery!

*DISCLOSURE: By sponsoring a goat, please be aware that there are circumstances out of our control which could result in injury, illness, rehoming or death of an animal. If this occurs, we will communicate with you openly and reassign you a healthy, producing goat from our herd. We've done our best to select a handful of does that we think will be with us for years to come.

These are symbolic sponsorships and do not require any physical or in-person requirements of the purchaser.

Although you will be sponsoring your specific doe, a portion of the purchase goes toward supporting the entire herd of 50+ goats plus our bucks.

Sponsorships are set us as reoccurring memberships through our partner program, Recharge. Goat sponsorships auto-renew annually on the day of sponsorship purchase. Cancel at any time.

Meet the Creamery
Owners

MICHELLE & JACK RUDOLPH

Stepladder Creamery isn't simply another cheese company—it represents the heartfelt journey of Jack and Michelle Rudolph, who took a huge risk to transition from careers in tech and event planning to pursue a love of cheesemaking that began in the confines of Jack’s apartment.

Their shared enthusiasm for cheesemaking and sustainable agriculture has revitalized Jack's grandfather's 150-year-old historic ranch, turning it into a stronghold for handcrafted quality and environmentally responsible farming.

Jack and Michelle stand for embracing a narrative of love, commitment, and innovation. By treating their goats like family and enhancing the land through increased biodiversity, Jack and Michelle invite you to join a movement where artisanal craftmanship prevails.

More than just cheesemakers, the Rudolphs are profoundly committed to the well-being of their team, their animals, and the support of similar small businesses and makers. Each piece of Stepladder cheese embodies the Rudolphs' unwavering dedication to perfecting their craft.

Sustainable from Start to End

STEPLADDER CREAMERY

Being a sustainable ranch and creamery is non-negotiable for us. We love where we live and work, and want to keep it just as beautiful as when we got here.

How do we stay sustainable?

Solar-Power

A 50KW solar array on the farm produces roughly 90 percent of the energy we use

Water Catchments

We rely on spring water and a large rain catchment refreshed by the annual rain as our main source

Circular Waste-Reduction

We utilize the manure from the goats to fertilize our orchards, and free-roaming Stepladder piggies receive the spent whey from the creamery and get to eat any unsellable harvested fruit and veg.

The Happiest Goats in the USA

As a farmstead creamery, we raise our goats on the farm and make cheese from their milk, which allows us to manage every aspect of the Stepladder cheese production.

With every passing season, our herd has grown, as has the variety of both goat and cow’s milk cheeses we now produce in our creamery.

Our herd of 40 goats consists of registered LaManchas (the only breed of goats developed in the United States), and they happily graze on three acres of open pasture!
