Tour Guide
Do you love being outside? Do you want to work on a beautiful private ranch in Cambria? Love customer service? Do you love animals and food? Looking for a part time summer gig? We are looking to hire a tour guide for the summer!
Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday (weekdays as needed) March - September. (Possibility to stay on longer)
Compensation:
$16.50-19 DOE
Plus lots of cash tips!
Job Description: The perfect summer job! Host tours at Stepladder Ranch & Creamery! This job will entail showing paid guests around our farm for about 1-1.5 hours long. Tours Include going in with the goats, talking about the animals, showing guests the milking parlor and cheese making facility through our windows. Ending tours with a seasonal cheese tasting and small farmstand while being able to maintain a high level of customer service at all times! Prior to the tour, the guide will set up a farmstand and get the ranch ready for guests. There is a possibility to stay and continue working with the company and add on more responsibilities and / or if you have animal husbandry experience there is a possibility of working with the goats as well.
- Guide tours on a weekly basis (1-4 tours per day)
- Drive designated ranch vehicles for setting up tours
- Ability and willingness to learn about the processes of goat husbandry, cheese making, and general farm practices
- Ability to read and understand the provided tour guide manual
- Represent Stepladder Ranch and Creamery with a positive attitude and enthusiasm
- Become an expert about our products and provide excellent customer service
- Set up farmstand with appropriate merchandising + cheese
- Strive to increase sales with innovative strategies and customer engagement
- Maintain positive relationships with customers and other team members
- Employ excellent attention to detail using our Point of Sale system including cash handling and credit card transactions
Job Requirements:
- Maintain a high level of customer service at all times
- Reliable transportation to get to and from work + use of car to guide guests from ranch gates to tour location
- Weekend and holiday availability
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift over 50lbs
- Ability to answer emails and respond
- Ability to use TOCK our online tour booking platform
- No prior knowledge of cheese / goats / farming required but, preferred
