Wanda is a lovely young doe who was born on the ranch on March 3, 2019. Her mom, Wilma, was also born on the ranch and named by Jack and Michelle to honor one of their mentors - Wilma from Glengarry Fine Cheese in Ontario, California. We chose Wanda’s name based on its first-letter similarity with her mom, so it is a bit of a departure from the Glengarry theme.
Wanda currently lives in the pasture with many of her relatives including her older sister, Stephanie, who is another one of our does that was selected for the sponsorship program. Wanda is a bit sassy with the other does, so is relatively high up in the herd hierarchy even though she is rather small. Little but fierce!
Wanda is a very playful and friendly little goat who loves to get scratches from her human companions. She is very curious, and will generally be one of the first to investigate anything new in her environment. She also loves eating paper products, so cannot be trusted around the clipboard when we are out in the field attempting to record notes on the herd.
Wanda was paired up with our buck Steve in October of 2021 and delivered 2 kids on March 4, 2022. She had a boy and a girl. We are planning on keeping her beautiful daughter to add to our select group of milking does and can’t wait to see what the future holds in store for her. Keep your eyes on our social media for updates on the whole herd, or sign up to sponsor Wanda here to get updates on this lovely lady.
